Modern Farmhouse Project

Project Overview:

A client from Flemmingsburg, KY, expressed the desire for a complete decoration overhaul for their expansive farmhouse. The goal was to fully decorate their farmhouse, including accessories, lighting, window treatments, and furniture. Originally built as a farmhouse, this property has been expanded to include a new living room and additional rooms The existing old wooden furniture, inherited from the client’s in-laws, didn’t align with their vision of a modern farmhouse aesthetic.

The farmhouse’s spacious layout included numerous corridors, corners, and generously sized windows. Monika conceptualized a design strategy that incorporated vibrant splashes of color, specifically shades of blue and orange. The consistent color scheme, modern area rugs, paintings, and accessories throughout the house brought it all together. Every room underwent a transformation, embracing the essence of modern farmhouse style through carefully curated furniture choices.

Custom window treatments were added to two big windows and semi custom draperies were added to the rest of the windows. A big chandelier was added as requested in addition to strategically placed lamps and sconces which elevated the decor. In essence, the entire residence underwent a top-to-bottom rejuvenation, with a focus on furniture, decor, and lighting.
